knowledge and wisdom

//I’m trying out a new weekly format, more to keep track of the things I have read and watched. It’s also a format that, I hope, will evolve as I look to put together a weekly email newsletter.
This came on during a train ride home (from work), this week. Great song.

Everyone is a fan.
Game 5 magic.
Pregame shenanigans
I’m trying (again) to work myself back into the writing habit. I used to write a lot. A lot. But, over the years, I got away from it. And as I got further away form the writing habit, I find that I didn’t have the same focus, the same feelings, and the same… grounding that I used to have in my life. And I know this, and I know how important it is for me to write regularly. And so, I am working on establishing that writing habit again.
One of the ways I am doing this is to write a scene to a song. In other words, I’ll listen to a song and write something inspired by it. Most times, I’ll end up with a montage or something like a music video.
It’s kind of fun, for me at least. The last song I wrote to is below. Enjoy!
Loved this entire set but, “All Night Long” stood out for me. Bought the entire album after watching this over and over a few times.
Can’t explain it… I just love it.
Another from NPR’s Tiny Desk series. Seeing this lead me to dive into their collection, where I ended up buying as much as I could find. I just really like their sound.
I could write a few hundred scenes to this song. It’s just… good.
Morning light
Approaching Dulles
We were told that the heat shattered this window. As in, it was upwards of 135 degrees Fahrenheit. Must have been the combo of the heat outside and the air conditioned inside.
Took the morning to push out some much needed work. Too many things were piled up. Feels good to clear out most of my inbox.
Went to same hotel I stayed at (back in May) for drinks because, this.
damn dirty tinted windows spoil the photo.
Lunch view from the noodle bar.
Had dinner at a (very good) Mexican restaurant, in Abu Dhabi. It was part of a mall but also had this view. Things could be worse.
